B Street Green Infrastructure/Streetscape

SGA was retained as the prime consultant to oversee the urban redevelopment planning effort for Carlisle Borough’s former industrial area Area-Wide Brownfields Plan. SGA was hired to oversee all of the community engagement, urban design, landscape architecture, and blue/green infrastructure components as a part of the preliminary and final engineering of three new roundabouts and several new and upgraded streets. B Street was the pilot project for the overall transportation improvement initiative. The project included curbside bump-outs, architectural street lighting, unit paving hardscape, street trees, bio-retention planters, and site fixtures. The design also addressed the Borough’s MS4 permit requirements as well as meeting the Chesapeake Bay TMDL pre-treatment regulations.
