St. Paul’s Blue Greenway
Norfolk, Virginia
SGA led the park design for the 23-acre St. Paul’s Blue Greenway, working alongside a team of experts from different fields. This exciting project is a key part of the larger St. Paul’s Transformation effort, which aims to improve the neighborhood and create a healthier, more resilient community.
SGA is designing the park, green spaces, and recreational areas that will make up the Blue Greenway. Once built, it will be a welcoming and vibrant place for people of all ages to enjoy. The park will offer walking trails, play areas, and places to relax, while also helping the environment by managing stormwater and restoring natural habitats.
The Blue Greenway will benefit the St. Paul’s and Kindred neighborhoods, as well as the wider Norfolk area. It’s designed to bring people together, encourage outdoor activity, and support learning through programs focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). It will also help protect the community from flooding and other climate-related challenges.
SGA’s design focuses on making the space sustainable, inclusive, and easy to access. By working closely with city leaders and local residents, the team is creating a park that reflects the community’s needs and values. The Blue Greenway will not only improve quality of life but also support economic growth and help people connect with nature and each other.
