Project Planner

Phillip Wu joined SGA in 2022 as a Project Planner, having most recently worked at the City of Pittsburgh Department of City Planning, where he was the neighborhood planner for seven of Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhoods and coordinated the City’s program for developer-to-neighborhood community outreach.
In addition to his public sector experience, Phil spent five years as a planner at a private landscape architecture, urban design, and planning firm based in Pittsburgh, where he worked on a variety of projects ranging from comprehensive plans and zoning ordinances to sign guidelines, parking studies, housing plans, and economic development analyses. In his capacity as a planner, Phil has worked with a diverse base of public, private, and nonprofit clients, including dozens of local governments in Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the National Park Service, multiple real estate and land use attorneys, and one of the largest private landowners in Columbus, Ohio.
Phil graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and was born and raised in North Texas. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, trying new restaurants, and going on road trips.
