Stromberg, Garrigan & Associates will be represented by Principal Sean Garrigan, as he prepares to speak on a panel during the 2019 WV Brownfields Conference & Main Street/On Trac Training.
The panel will discuss the benefits of incorporating remediation requirements into planned site development, design and visualization. The focus will be coordination among the environmental consultant, property redeveloper and engineer/architect to determine the best redevelopment design in coordination with remedy plans and community partners. Speakers will discuss the advantages of using such planning to reduce costs while improving the protections to human health and the environment through coordination of design and site use restrictions under the redevelopment plan. Examples of redevelopment plans created through partnerships with design faculty and students at West Virginia University’s Community Engagement Lab will demonstrate how stakeholder engagement and participatory design can enhance the design process.
This annual event will feature two mobile workshops that feature the host community of Morgantown, and will also hold a Project Showcase, a “Women in Brownfields” Networking event, and sessions discussing the latest trends and topics relating to brownfield redevelopment in West Virginia. Tickets are still available to attend the conference from the 10th-12th of September.
