Principal Sean Garrigan recently participated in the CCLR National Brownfields Leadership Summit Planning Meeting, held in Washington DC.
The leadership summit hosted over 30 brownfields private sector experts in all aspects of brownfields redevelopment. These leaders met to organize the National Brownfields Coalition – an advocacy group focused on various nation-wide brownfields policy and funding initiatives, including advocating to congress for full funding allocation of the US EPA Brownfields Program as authorized by the Brownfields Utilization Investment and Local Development Build Act.
Sean participated in a strategy session that included meeting with Congresswoman Betty McCollum of Minnesota who works as a member of the House Appropriations Committee. She serves on the Committee as the Chair of the Interior-Environment Subcommittee, the Vice Chair of the Defense Subcommittee, and as a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Subcommittee.
