Congratulations to our newest Landscape Designer, Zihan Zhu as a recipient of the Honor Award for Urban Design of the 2020 ASLA Student Awards. Zihan and her peers proposed an ecological and agricultural district that supports underserved communities in Guatemala City as it is facing consequences related to rapid urbanization. Urban sprawl has degraded the ecological and agricultural history of the community which is what led to the decision to focus on linking communities through edible landscapes and green social spaces.
