SGA has been selected as the prime technical, planning, and design consultants for the implementation of the City of Shamokin, Pennsylvania’s Community-wide Brownfields Assessment Grant project. The project is funded through a U.S. EPA Brownfields planning and environmental assessment grant to further the city’s various community and economic redevelopment efforts. Deliverables, when completed will include Environmental Site Assessments, Area-wide and Site Reuse Plans, Remedial Action Plans, and Implementation Plans covering a number of target areas and priority brownfield sites for hazardous substances. Under this grant, thirty-nine properties were identified as brownfields within the City of Shamokin that will be assessed and studied.
SGA looks forward to continuing to provide the City of Shamokin high level planning and design development, much like the award-winning Plan GOShamokin initiative led by SGA, to foster its revitalization.
