A step-by-step by process was presented using current SGA EPA Area-Wide Brownfields projects case studies in Ranson, WV and Monaca, PA to a diverse audience of multi-state community development and planning staff representatives from the tri-state area.
A special emphasis of the session will relate to the redevelopment of urban and brownfields sites. Concern about sediment and nutrients in waterways is driving cities and states to adopt more stringent stormwater management regulations, especially within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed where SGA is currently working on a U.S. EPA Area-Wide Planning Brownfields Pilot Project.
